The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is the first plan of its kind in the world! The RDSP is a long-term savings mechanism that provides a way for individuals, parents and others, to save for the future well-being of a person who is eligible for the Disability Tax Credit. While the RDSP does not address short-term needs, it is worth consideration because it presents a new way for people with disabilities and their families to plan for the future. In Saskatchewan, families can save money for their loved one without it affecting payments from Social Assistance. Another special feature is that for qualifying individuals, the Federal Government will put money into RDSP accounts! (Go to our FAQ section for more info!)
