The Literacy Committee of the Regina and District Association for Community Living (RDACL) would like to invite you to participate in a survey that will provide information for future literacy support in our community.

If you would like to complete the survey, please contact us and we can e-mail you a form that can be filled in on your computer. If you would prefer a paper copy to fill in, you can pick one up at the office.

Greeting from the Literacy Committee.

Earls East Goes Above and Beyond

When businesses or people put up their hand to help a good cause there is usually one of two things that happen:

1) They do exactly what the cause asks of them.

2) The businesses or people go above an beyond what the cause is asking for.

Without question Jim Demeray and his team at Earls East in Regina would fall into the second category.  When asked to help out the Best Buddies program and join our Toast To Friendship campaign in March, there was no question, Jim was going to make it happen.  So throughout the month of March Earls East and it’s great team of employees supported the program and a donation was made at the month. See number one (above).

Once the month was over I was approached by Jim and he wanted to do MORE for the Best Buddies program.  So he offered up his restaurant, his team, and hosted a group of Buddies for a tour of the restaurant and lunch.  Buddies got a chance to make their own drinks, see how the kitchen works, and pick whatever they wanted on the menu!

It was such an awesome afternoon and we’re lucky that a good friend was able to capture some of it on video!  Check it out and try not to smile!
